Dreadbox Utopia CV/Audio Manipulator Chromatic Series Eurorack Module

The Dreadbox Utopia is a multifunctional CV and audio manipulation module designed for the Eurorack modular synthesiser format. Part of Dreadbox's Chromatic Series, it consolidates several essential signal processing and modulation utilities into a single 10HP unit, offering both creative sound design possibilities and practical patching solutions within a compact footprint. Its design reflects Dreadbox's reputation for delivering distinctive and accessible electronic music tools. The module's core functionality is built around a versatile signal path. It features four attenuuinverters, which allow for precise control over the amplitude and polarity of incoming control voltage (CV) or audio signals. These feed into a flexible 4-to-3 mixer that can also be configured as a buffered multiple to split a single signal. A dedicated offset generator provides a stable +/-10V DC voltage source for modulation or as a tunable reference. For modulation, the Utopia includes a voltage-controlled low-frequency oscillator (LFO) with an exceptionally wide range from one cycle every 30 seconds up to 440Hz, suitable for everything from glacial sweeps to audio-rate effects. A unique 'Pulserizer' circuit can aggressively distort incoming signals, converting them into a square wave for rhythmic gating or harsh harmonic content. This module is ideally suited for both newcomers to modular synthesis seeking a versatile utility hub and experienced patchers looking to maximise functionality in limited space.
