How loud is the alarm siren?
The outdoor siren produces a 100dB alarm, which is designed to be clearly audible to alert neighbours and deter intruders.
Can you disarm the alarm using Alexa voice commands?
No, you cannot disarm the alarm using Alexa. Voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant are limited to checking the system status (e.g., 'is the alarm armed?') or initiating arming routines. Disarming must be done via the keypad or smartphone app for security.
Are the motion detectors pet-friendly?
The PIR motion detectors included in this kit are not pet-immune. If you have pets that may trigger false alarms, you would need to purchase pet-friendly PIR sensors separately to add to the system.
Can you add extra door sensors to this kit?
Yes, the system is fully expandable and supports the addition of up to 40 accessories, including extra door contact sensors, which can be purchased separately.
Can the outdoor siren be mains-powered?
The outdoor siren included in the kit is battery-powered (using 4 D batteries). A mains-powered external siren is available to purchase separately if you prefer a permanent power connection.
Does the system require a Wi-Fi connection for the sensors to work?
The sensors and components communicate with the smart hub via a secure 868MHz radio frequency within a 200m range, not via Wi-Fi. However, the hub itself requires a wired Ethernet connection to your broadband router for remote app functionality and alerts.
What happens if there is a power cut or internet outage?
During a power cut, the smart hub operates on its backup battery, allowing the basic alarm system (arming/disarming via keypad) to function. However, you will not be able to control it via the smartphone app or receive notifications until power and internet are restored. The sirens will not sound solely due to a network outage.
