The Yale Keyless Connected Smart Door Lock is a digital access control system designed to upgrade existing door security without requiring full lock replacement. It replaces the traditional thumbturn and key cylinder on compatible nightlatches, providing keyless entry through multiple methods. The lock is specifically engineered for UK doors with a 60mm backset, making it suitable for most standard external timber doors where enhanced convenience and security are desired. Key features include multiple access options: users can enter via a personal PIN code on the backlit keypad, a supplied RFID key card, or a key tag fob. The system supports up to 20 unique user codes and can store 20 RFID cards or tags plus 5 remote fobs, allowing flexible management for households or small businesses. It offers a sequential code function with one million possible combinations and includes a latch holdback feature for code-free access when needed. The lock body itself is weather-resistant with an IP55 rating, though the internal battery compartment must be installed on the protected, interior side of the door. Power is supplied by four included AA batteries, with a backup 9V battery terminal for emergency access if the main batteries fail. This lock is best suited for homeowners seeking to modernise their entry system with smart features while retaining their existing nightlatch mechanism. It provides a practical solution for granting temporary access to visitors via shared codes, eliminating the need for physical key copies. The reversible design allows installation on left or right-handed doors. For full smart home integration, including remote access and temporary code sharing, the optional Yale Wi-Fi Bridge & Access Module or Z-Wave modules can be added.
